Today is February 17th and it’s D-Day for monster duel lovers as Konami launched the first event on the game Master Duel, the game to over 10 million downloads. The addition of the Xyz Festival is not the only thing coming today and we also find content for the single player mode, a new structure deck and free gems thanks to the celebrations.
Let’s start with the free gems, there are 800 to collect by logging in via the 100,000 Twitter followers login bonus but also for the celebration of the first event. Of course, you may have obtained more gems thanks to other missions or bug fixes for example.
New Single Player Content
It may not necessarily be what you expected, but the single-player mode narrating the lore of the cards is updating and we like it. He offers a new scenario based on Lightlords, those creatures that often have an effect that sends cards from the top of the deck to the graveyard and are tied to the Dragon of Judgment. A story that will be made up of three branches with a main and two secondary ones in which you will learn to play this deck. This is an opportunity to get new cards.
The Xyz-Festival
The first event is now here and as expected, you will need to have a deck with an Extra Deck composed only of Xyz cards. This does not mean that you have to play them, which is the subtlety to take into account since it is therefore possible to play a deck whose extra is useless but beware, there is a banlist specially designed for the festival and so some pots are not allowed as well as cards like Edlich.
Going back to the event itself, players will be able to obtain Bonus Pack tickets as well as gems by accumulating medals.
- Event duration : from February 17 at 8:30 a.m. to February 24 at 5:59 a.m.
- Time limit to collect the rewards: from February 24 at 6:00 a.m. to February 26 at 3:59 p.m.
New structure deck and archetypes for the event
Finally, we’ll go back to the new structure deck and talk about a few archetypes or decks that you can use in the event.
Until yesterday we had two decks available in the store and today a new xyz-based deck was released. This is the Cypher deck that will allow you to play the galactic-eyed dragons or at least some of them. As for each deck in the shop, it is possible to buy it three times for the sum of 1,500 gems (500 per copy). The point of doing this is to get a good base of cards for an archetype. You can imagine it, but to improve this deck, you can combine it with the Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, for example, or incorporate hand traps like Ash Blossom or Effect Illusionist. Besides this deck, there is another structure deck available that can be used in the case of the festival, it is “New Universe Contract” which is based on Utopia monsters and which can do a lot of damage thanks to certain combos .
Among the interesting decks that you can also play is the Number deck. Afterwards, there are a multitude of other possible decks that you can create. The main thing is to have fun and hit the cards.
