Yanis Marshall confides in his alcohol consumption: this real reason which would have motivated his ouster from the “Star Academy”: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Wednesday October 4, 2023, a wind of surprise blew over fans of the Star Academy. The production of the telehook TF1 announced that Yanis Marshall, dance teacher who made an impression during the previous season, will be missing for the new season launched on November 4 at 9:10 p.m. But what really happened to cause this talent to slip out of the spotlight? “I never imagined this new season without me”he confided to our colleagues at ParisianMonday October 9, 2023, acknowledging having hoped “more support from TF1”. The frenetic pace of the singing competition pushed the 33-year-old dancer to exceed his limits. “I was both a teacher and a choreographer, so I would leave at 7 a.m. and return at midnight. I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking I was being filmed!” An untenable pace that pushed him to his limits… “From the third week onwards, I found myself having huge anxiety attacks […]as I like to party, this could have happened to me through alcohol”, he confided, replaced by Malika Benjelloun. Unfortunately, this was quickly seen the morning of filming the third prime. “I broke down. […] I partied…a little too much. The next day I was totally hungover and everyone was a little worried. I put on Dior glasses and went on set. And, in the end, I did my best.”

A rehab for Yanis Marshall (“Star Academy”)?

But these excesses did not fail to attract attention and raise concerns behind the scenes, notably during his participation in the NRJ Music Awards in November 2022. “When I got off stage, I downed a bottle of champagne and collapsed in tears”told Yanis Marshall to Parisianspecifying that he had confided in a person from TF1 in whom “he thought he had confidence”. Unfortunately, what he experienced became known: the producers of the star AcademyJean-Louis Blot and Mathieu Vergne, were concerned about its stability. Yanis Marshall explained that he himself wondered if he was not an alcoholic, but today assures us that this was not the case. Unfortunately, in February 2023, during a meeting with production, instead of discussing the next season, they confronted him with his problems. “I was told, ‘Have you been to rehab?'”he remembered, although he was better at that time. Although Yanis Marshall began working on himself and sought professional help, TF1 made the decision not to continue with him. “I continue to see a psychologist, to work on my well-being”concluded the professor despite the bad news.
