The new season of Star Academy (TF1) is due to resume on November 4, and choreographer Yanis Marshall will not be there. After revealing the reasons for his departure in “Le Parisien”, he expressed his regrets in “Touche pas à mon poste” (C8).
On November 4, a new class of 16 candidates will enter the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys. They will face each other during the new season of the star Academy (TF1), under the guidance of teachers who will teach them the basics of song, dance and stage performance. But viewers will notice the absence of two teachers from the last edition: the dancer and choreographer Yanis Marshall and the performing artist Laure Balon. They will be replaced respectively by the dancer Malika Benjelloun and the singer Cécile Chaduteau.
If a producer of the show had moved forward in The Parisian that Yanis Marshall was leaving “for personal projects that are complicated to implement”, he immediately denied in a daily interview. According to the specialist in dancing in high heels, his ouster would rather come from his problems with alcohol and his anxiety attacks. A subject that he also mentioned on the show Do not touch My TV (C8), questioned on the subject by Cyril Hanouna. The dancer explains having an anxiety attack after the NRJ Music Awards eveningdue to the pressure he was under, upset by the unprecedented media exposure that the star Academy.

“When leaving the stage, I downed a bottle of champagne and collapsed in tears. I had the biggest anxiety attack of my life.”he confides. “A person who works in the production of TF1 […] was aware that this happened. […] She asks me if I want her to come by. I said to him: ‘I beg you, yes'”, he remembers. Yanis Marshall explains having told “all [sa] life” to this person, in whom he trusted. “It appears that the next day, I immediately understand that everyone knows what happened“he explains, before continuing: “I don’t know what she said, but enough to scare“, and thus lead to his ouster from the program, even if he promised production that he would take care of him. The choreographer continues: “I regret confiding in the wrong person. If I had experienced the same thing and said nothing, I would still be at Star Academy today.”
