2024 - Yann Moix: his secrets about his anti-Semitic drawings

Tuesday March 15, 2022, Yann Moix was the guest of Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on the set of C à vous. He returned to the controversy over his anti-Semitic drawings, made at the age of 21.

Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine received the writer Yann Moix on Tuesday March 15, 2022 in It’s up to you. The 53-year-old presented his new book, Verdun, on the set of the show. During his visit, he also returned to polemic antisemitic cartoons.

In effect, The Express revealed in 2019 anti-Semitic drawings made by Yann Moix when he was 21 years old. Yann Moix: “It was a period of my life when I felt extremely bad about myself”.

Yann Moix, who today assumes his past mistakes told : “It was a period of my life when I felt extremely bad about myself for a thousand reasons.“. The author of jubilation to the sky explained that at that time he had just miss the competitions to enter the HEC school, that he had had a sentimental disappointment and that he came from a family “racist, xenophobic, atrocious“.

Indeed, Yann Moix had a particularly difficult childhood and was notably beaten by his parentsas he recounted in his novel Orleansreleased in 2019. On the set of It’s up to you, he confided in his evolution. “I did not become what I was programmed to become. And I managed not to be what I almost was” he finally concluded.
