“Yellowstone” is probably one of the series franchises with the most headlines about behind-the-scenes disputes. After the constant back and forth between (former) leading actor Kevin Costner and series creator Taylor Sheridan, it’s now Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Luke Grimescausing trouble for Sheridan.

US magazine TVLine reports from the industry newsletter Puck that the three “Yellowstone” actors may not appear in the new spin-off of the series that has already been ordered because they are demanding a very high salary increase.

The spin-off is an as yet unnamed series that will continue the story of the family around Costner’s John Dutton in the present – only without Costner and most likely with “True Detective” star Matthew McConaughey.

At first, Sheridan hadn’t planned on bringing Reilly, Hauser, and Grimes back to their roles of Beth, Rip, and Kayce, but it was suggested to the series creator that the three would be a good entry point into the new series, so he decided to include them in the series wanted to be there.

But the actors want to pay very well for their renewed appearance in the “Yellowstone” franchise. Puck reveals that Reilly now wants to get $1.5 million per episode, while Hauser is asking for $1.25 million. Hauser is known to be currently paid $700,000 per episode. Grimes is said to charge less than his colleagues, but exact figures are not known.

In addition, all three actors have signed a “pay or play” contract for season 6 of “Yellowstone”. This means they get paid for this season even though it isn’t being filmed.

According to Puck, Paramount and 101 Studios, which produces the series, are now trying to offer this Season 6 salary as a raise for the spin-off, but the actors are insisting on receiving both their contractually guaranteed Season 6 salary and the raise for the new series.

Whether we’ll see Beth Dutton, Kayce Dutton and Rip Wheeler again in the new “Yellowstone” series is still up in the air. Paramount and 101 Studios are said to have set a deadline of the end of the week by which the actors must decide whether to accept the previous offer.
