A FIRST TEASER IS AVAILABLE
A first teaser was revealed to announce the second part of season 5, and incidentally the final season of the program. However, filming has not started and no official image has yet been released.
RELEASE DATE: WHEN IS SEASON 2 COMING OUT?
The release date is announced for the end of this year. Since filming has not yet started, it seems likely that this broadcast date will ultimately be pushed back to next year.
WHERE TO SEE IT IN STREAMING?
Yellowstone, as well as the two prequel series 1883 and 1923, are available now exclusively on the Paramount+ platform.
WHO WILL BE RETURNING FOR THE END OF THE SERIES?
This is the question that burns the lips of all fans of the series. At present, the return of Kevin Costner seems hypothetical due to the differences between him and the creator of the program, Taylor Sheridan.
The interpreter of John Dutton wanted to limit his time in the series, in order to devote himself fully to the production of Horizon: An American Saga, a western fresco divided into four films.
At the same time, artistic and financial differences were raised by the American press. For his part, Taylor Sheridan did not hesitate to threaten the actor with completely ousting him from the program, and to shoot the end of the series without John Dutton – despite the central place he occupies in the plot.
Also in litigation with production over salary issues, the trio composed of Kelly Reilly (Beth), Cole Hauser (Rip) and Luke Grimes (Kayce) will indeed be back. The three actors are already under contract for this season 5, which even extends to an additional year. Their negotiations therefore concern possible participation in the 2024 series, the direct sequel to Yellowstone which will soon see the light of day.
WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT SEASON 5 PART 2
It seems that the end of the series was precipitated by the falling out between Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan. The creator of Yellowstone, however, confirmed in an interview that the outcome planned from the beginning will not be modified by this early end of the program.
We still don’t know how the absence of John Dutton will be managed in this second part of season 5, but a return of Kevin Costner cannot be ruled out since the filming of the first two parts of his western saga has now been completed. It has also been confirmed that a young John Dutton will appear again in the form of flashbacks, still in the guise of his interpreter Josh Lucas.
This season 5 part 2 could also introduce a new character played by Matthew McConaughey. Although it has not yet been made official, the Texan actor is supposed to play the main role in the 2024 series, which will be the direct sequel to Yellowstone.
The resumption of filming for the series, which seems imminent, could therefore confirm the arrival of the latter in the Yellosstone universe…
IS A SEASON 6 PLANNED?
No, Yellowstone will not return for another season. But the end of the series does not mean the end of the adventures for the heroes of the program. Two sequels have already been made official: the spin-off 6666 dedicated to the Texan ranch where Jimmy (Jefferson White) now works and 2024, a direct sequel.
Other spin-off series will also see the light of day. While a 1923 season 2 will soon air, a new prequel set in 1944 has also been announced. The creator of the Yellowstone universe has also confirmed that he is working on other spin-offs dedicated to the History of the Dutton clan.
