This Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson, was the guest of the morning of BFMTV-RMC, and announced that a curfew would be implemented soon in Paris and "perhaps" in Île-de-France, in addition to confinement. As for the date of entry into force of this measure, Gabriel Attal specified: "It is the Minister of the Interior who will say it during the day".
But since then, these statements have been corrected by Matignon, who says in an AFP dispatch that the curfew in Paris is not "absolutely not decided at this stage". "The police chief mentioned this measure in view of certain situations observed in the evening in Paris", specifies Matignon, taken up in particular by L'Obs.
A curfew under study
So what is it? Contacted this Tuesday, November 3 by aufeminin, the government spokesperson, led by Gabriel Attal, indicates that "This measure has been under consideration since yesterday, to draw all the lessons from the weekend. LThe virus hits Paris hard: a Parisian is hospitalized every 15 minutes. We still see too many people moving around at night, shops are open when they were closed during the curfew [we observe] dinners or clandestine parties. To best protect all Parisians, this track will be discussed tomorrow in the Defense Council and will be the subject of an exchange with the mayor of Paris ".
For his part, Matignon, still in his AFP dispatch, indicates that "the police chief mentioned this measure with regard to certain situations observed in the evening in Paris". This measure, which would consist of "to set a night time for the closing of shops authorized to operate", "will be consulted with the Parisian municipality by the prefecture, but has not been decided at this stage. A decision will be taken in the coming days", explains Matignon.
The containment project for the capital is therefore well under study, and could concern food shops, as well as individual outings. Until the official announcements, Parisians will have to take their troubles patiently.
