Each year, a third of customers of offers called “grouped” pay too much. They buy phones at a reduced price by paying 10 to 15 euros more per month on their plan. But once the price of their smartphone has been fully reimbursed, they continue to donate this amount every month. For what ? They did not contact their carrier to make the change.
In general, the payment schedule for a new mobile through this method is calculated over two years. The package then returns to its initial amount. But sometimes it is specified in the contract that it is up to the user to make the request to their operator and they continue to pay without even realizing it. Some would even pay up to three years after the end of the repayment, which represents between 120 and 180 euros per year. A legal practice therefore, but one which is costly to the millions of French people who consume in this way.
