Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is a near certainty and it should set the bar very, very high. In any case, this is what two major players who are already dreaming of great ambitions are hoping for.
Started in 2017 by Insomniac, the license Marvel’s Spider-Man has established itself as a key PlayStation exclusive. It’s very simple, we haven’t seen a better superhero adaptation since the Batman Arkham from Rocksteady. Last year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 once again set the bar very high, even if it is not without its flaws, the game is a success and the success was not long in coming. While the shadow of a big DLC looms, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, for its part, seems assured and the ambitions are already enormous for two of the main stakeholders.
Big ambitions for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3? Actors dream of it!
We saw it when Insomniac was hacked, the studio was working on a multiplayer game in its Spider-Verse. Gameplay was even found on the web (ours) and the result was extremely promising. The Spider-Man universe is vast, we have already seen it in the first two games of the license, but for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, it could perhaps go even further. In any case, this is what the two main stakeholders, Yuri Lowenthal & Nadji Jeter, who respectively play Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the original version, are hoping for.
At the microphone of our comrades from home IGN, the two men shared with us their desires for the next episode of the franchise and they clearly dream of the multiverse. The two actors ardently hope to see their heroes fight alongside several Spider-Mans from other worlds like Miguel O’Hara, the futuristic Spidey from earth-928, punk weaver Hobart Brown of the earth 138 or even the Hindu version of Spider-Man, Paviitr Prabhakar of Earth-50101. Colorful characters that we can also see in the animated film Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.
The multiverse is fashionable, largely democratized by Marvel and its MCU in the cinema, although the process is absolutely not new, far, very far from it. As we have seen, Insomniac knows its subject, the aborted multiplayer game was frankly selling dreams and if it was canceled, perhaps not all the ideas were rejected. With such dreamy actors, fans as hot as embers and a universe just waiting to be discovered, the PlayStation studio has a real avenue for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. It now remains to be seen what it intends to do with it.
