Best expected this summer, iOS 17 is already available in beta version and only requires a little manipulation on your iPhone. Clubic explains to you.
Earlier this week, Apple unveiled the next version of its iPhone operating system, iOS 17, on the sidelines of WWDC 2023, the American giant’s high mass dedicated to developers. There will be no shortage of new features, with the arrival of a diary, real-time transcription of voice messages, support for audio and video messages, landscape display mode for various information, or different features around of security. Know that if you are curious to discover them, it is already possible, for free, thanks to the beta version.
Simplified access to the iOS 17 beta
Previously, the iOS 17 beta was only supposed to be available to developers with an account with Apple. But it is finally possible to test it as a simple user, thanks to a small manipulation of the families, which we explain to you here. All without having to install a beta profile on your device.

- Click on ” General »
- Then on ” Software update »
- Then press ” Beta updates “, then choose ” iOS 17 Developer Beta »
There you are offered to download and install this version on your iPhone. To take advantage of it, the only condition is to have an Apple ID. Basic, for anyone who already has an iPhone.
However, be careful if you start
You must still have the latest stable version of the Apple OS, i.e. iOS 16.5, to see the option to download the beta version of the operating system from your menu. In theory, this shouldn’t be a problem for you. Remember to check that your phone is compatible, some have been excluded from the list, such as the iPhoneX.
Be careful though: if the installation seems simple, it is not necessarily recommended. We even urge you to be careful. By definition, the beta version is not final and may contain bugs that could affect your navigation.
