In times of fuel shortages, remember that Waze can help you find a gas station to fill up on.
If you need fuel for your vehicle and don’t want to spend hours looking for a gas station that can meet your needs, there are several solutions. Perhaps the easiest of these is to use the Waze app.
Let Waze guide you
France is experiencing a new fuel shortage. The strike is in full swing at TotalEnergies, which severely limits the supply of service stations, many of which are running dry. Add to that the strong demand linked to a drop in prices at the pump recently and the uncertainty that is causing some to stock up, and it starts to become difficult to find a place to get gas.
Waze can help you find a service station near you that has the fuel you need. The community application often manages to have information at the pump in real time thanks to the feedback of its users.
To do this, go to the settings of the application, select “Driving preferences”, then “Petrol stations”. You can then fill in the fuel you use, and Waze will take you to the nearest station that still has it.
No end in sight at the moment
Government spokesman Olivier Véran speaks of “tensions”, but still refuses to speak of a fuel shortage. 20% of resorts in France encounter “ difficulties on at least one type of fuel ” this Friday. But the situation can be much better or much worse than the national average, depending on the region. In Hauts-de-France, around 40% of resorts are having trouble obtaining supplies.
Total unions have started a social movement for ten days. They are demanding a 10% increase in their wages to offset inflation. The Le Havre refinery, which represents 22% of refining activity in France, is completely shut down.
