According to information from Bloomberg, Sonos plans to launch not only headphones in 2024, but also a TV box, a new soundbar, a portable speaker and new connected speakers.
It has been an open secret for several years now. Sonos, the manufacturer specializing in connected speakers and soundbars, is reportedly working on its very first Bluetooth audio headset. Last week, we learned that Sonos was preparing a “exciting new product” from next year. Now we know a little more.
In an article published this Tuesday, journalist Mark Gurman, from the agency Bloomberg, reveals that Sonos plans to launch several new types of products next year. This would particularly be the case for a high-end Bluetooth headset, priced between $400 and $500, to compete with Apple’s AirPods Max and Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra headset.
“ A model is now planned to be announced next March, with the headset available in stores in the following months », Indicates Bloomberg, according to sources close to the matter. The Sonos headset would also be known by the code name “Duke” and would offer a circum-aural format so that the foam surrounds the user’s ear to isolate them and not simply rest on them. Two colors would be offered: black and white. The Sonos headset would also be compatible with the entire audio ecosystem of the American manufacturer and would also benefit from voice control using the Sonos Voice Control assistant.
However, Sonos does not intend to stop at headphones and is already working on wireless headphones competing with AirPods. The firm would also prepare other products, including a TV box.
