This Wednesday, March 16, Pascal Praud received Adrien Quatennens in “The listeners have the floor” on RTL. An extremely tense interview during which the presenter threatened to leave the set.
It was hot on the airwaves of RTL this Wednesday, March 16. In the early afternoon, Pascal Praud received the deputy of insubordinate France, Adrien Quatennensin the show “The listeners have the floor”. During the program, a listener wanted to question the rebellious elected official on the ambiguous positions of Jean-Luc Mélenchon on the subject of the war in Ukraine. On this occasion, the presenter wanted to rebroadcast a presidential candidate statement from 2014 : “Let’s keep adding to the usual Disneyland. The evil Vladimir Putin on one side and the very nice government of kyiv, who are (sic) still quite fierce people. After all, some of them are neo-Nazis.”
Words that immediately made Pascal Praud react. “They’re neo-Nazis… You see… He was wrong!”launched the latter, before being cut off by his guest. “There, you generalize”. “No, but that’s what Jean-Luc Mélenchon said”retorted the journalist. “He didn’t say they were all neo-Nazis. If you allow me… Look, do you want us to do some useful work on your show or not?”, then asked Adrien Quatennens. “Mr. Quatennens, if you want to talk all the time, I’ll give you the microphone and then I’ll go out!”threatened Pascal Praud.
Pascal Praud: “If you want to talk to yourself, I’ll go out!”
“Are you the political guest?”then reacted the deputy of the North. “No! I’m the one asking you the questions!”, replied the host of RTL. “Are you going to teach me geopolitics, Pascal Praud? Let me talk to you!”replied the representative of France Insoumise, before Pascal Praud again threatened to leave the set: “I’m not going to teach you anything at all! Exactly, I’m making you react to it, but really, if you want to talk to yourself for ten minutes, I’m out! You do not need me !”.
“If you don’t want me to talk anymore, I can leave”also indicated Adrien Quatennens. “No! You’re fine here! On the other hand, you’re the guest, but I’m the one asking the questions”, recalled Pascal Praud, before being once again interrupted. “I am the political guest! I’m the one who’s going to speak!” “You have a funny way of rebellious France of imagining dialogue. The question would already be asked if you didn’t interrupt me!”concluded the RTL journalist before finally continuing the interview.
