You don't die among friends: this new series brings big stars together in front of the camera

Great German stars such as Iris Berben and Heiner Lauterbach come together for the new co-production "You don't die among friends".

A new TVNow and VOX four-part series brings numerous greats of German film together in front of the camera: Iris Berben (69, "Die Protokollantin"), Heiner Lauterbach (67, "Grandson for Beginners"), Adele Neuhauser (61, "Crime Scene: Vienna "), Walter Sittler (67," The Commissioner and the Sea ") and Michael Wittenborn (67," Merz versus Merz "). The title of the mini series with a large portion of black humor is: "You don't die among friends".

It is about a clique of friends that has been in life for many years. One of them is nominated for the Nobel Prize – but before the winner is announced, the friend dies suddenly. The survivors come up with a daring plan: until the announcement – in five days – they want to keep their friend's death a secret. This endeavor not only puts friendship to the test – it also gets out of control step by step …

Filming in Cologne, Bonn and the surrounding area started in early August and is expected to be completed in mid-September. In order to keep the corona risk as low as possible, actors and those involved in production went into quarantine in advance and were tested twice on Covid-19. RTL produces the series together with TVNow and VOX. The series is directed by Felix Stienz ("Merz versus Merz", "Mrs. Jordan equals") based on scripts by Claudius Pläging ("The first name").
