“You don’t have the right to know”: the ironic tackle of Cédric Jubillar’s lawyer, disillusioned in court

This Tuesday, October 11, the lawyers of Cédric Jubillar pleaded once again for the release of the husband of the missing nurse. A hearing that was once again held behind closed doors, which did not fail to surprise one of the lawyers, who preferred to use irony to express his annoyance.

For the 12th time, the lawyers of Cedric Jubillar pleaded the release of their client before the investigating chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal this Tuesday, October 11. They believe that the husband of Delphine Jubillar, mysteriously disappeared on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020 in Cagnac-les-Mines, should not be behind bars, under the presumption of innocence. But for justice, the former plasterer was placed in solitary confinement for his “own safety” and the “investigation needs”since his arrest, six months after the fact.

Like the previous hearings, that of this Tuesday was held behind closed doors, at the request of the general prosecutor’s office. It took place in the absence of the principal concerned, who was not extracted from his cell in the Seysses remand center (Haute-Garonne). Visibly disillusioned, one of his lawyers was also ironic about this private audience with journalists who wanted to gather his impressions. “You do not have the right to know it since, for the umpteenth time, the Court of Appeal has pronounced the camera closed. Which is a first in terms of justice in France in a media affair. Beyond the irony, it’s unbearable. I have the feeling that justice is so ashamed of what it is doing that it wants to hide. Hidden justice is never good justice”confided Me Alexandre Martin in the room of the lost steps.

No chance of release for Cédric Jubillar

The investigation chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal will deliver its judgment on October 18. But in fact, Cédric Jubillar did not no chance of getting out of detention before reconstitution, which will close the instruction. Its exact date, however, remains unknown.

Despite the absence of irrefutable evidence incriminating Cédric Jubillar, the investigators claim to hold “serious and concordant clues” which could jeopardize the defense of the husband of the missing nurse. since then, his lawyers have tried in vain to appeal to the courts to obtain his release. They denounce in particular a file “empty” of evidence. With our colleagues from Le Figaro, they pointed the finger at a judicial investigation to charge synonymous, for them, “of an announced legal disaster”.
