Saturday evening on the set of the show “Quelle époque!”, Léa Salamé was not unanimous. Artus, guest of the evening, explained that he had given up alcohol and tobacco, to which the host reacted, that he had “become boring”. A comment that did not please Internet users who was quick to react on X.
Internet users were outraged by Léa Salamé’s comments. Saturday evening, the host received Artus in What an era!. When she asked him what his methods were to combat anxiety, the comedian replied: “I do lots of little extra things and it’s much better. I stopped drinking, I stopped to smoke…”. Léa Salamé then hastened to respond “Ah, you have become annoying! You are no longer anxious but you are boring”.
A reaction that Artus only moderately appreciated: “That’s very French… It’s funny because as soon as we say we stop drinking, we become boring. Whereas, p**** “It’s good not to drink alcohol.” To which the host added: “Ahlala, say…” Artus ended up concluding “I’m sorry! […] If I had said I was quitting coking, everyone would have said well done.”
But what a fucking scandal.
I had to watch ten times to make sure I heard it correctly.

Léa Salamé’s remarks strongly criticized
And if Artus reacted with humor, this is not the case for Internet users. On X, the sequence was widely commented on and sparked rather virulent reactions against Léa Salamé. Many wanted to recall the deadly nature of substances such as alcohol and tobacco: “As a reminder @LeaSalamealcohol causes 50,000 deaths per year, and cigarettes 75,000,” noted an Internet user on X. “It’s not because we consume substances that we’re fun,” comments another.

Alcohol and tobacco worsen anxiety disorders and suicide risk.

For some, the trivialization of alcohol consumption on a public service channel (France 2) is a scandal: “Léa Salamé’s speech is truly distressing. At the time of dry January, the debanalization of alcohol consumption “It’s time to change the presenters’ speeches.” Raphael Gluksmann’s partner has not yet responded.
