You have to see – in all seriousness: Polestar 4 comes without a rear window!

In many cars, one is thankful for parking beepers and reversing cameras because one simply cannot see enough out of the rear. Polestar is now taking this confusion to the extreme: the limousine just presented does without a rear window!

The absence of a rear window is known from delivery vans or super sports cars. Now you have to do without looking back in the Polestar 4. The four-door is 4.84 meters long. The rear passengers in particular benefit from its 3 meter wheelbase. Their seats are adjustable in the longitudinal direction. The standard and darkenable panoramic glass roof is intended to conceal the omission of the rear window. Of course, this does not bring a view to the rear, but at least a little more light in the interior. Instead of the rear window, there is a rear camera that supplies image information for the digital interior mirror. This takes some getting used to and is even impractical – wearers of varifocals in particular will not be happy with it. A 15.4-inch display in the center console serves as the display and control unit for many vehicle functions and the infotainment system. There is also a head-up display with a 14.7-inch projection surface. The Polestar 4 will be available in a single-engine rear and a twin-engine all-wheel drive variant with 200 kW/272 hp and 400 kW/544 hp respectively. The more powerful version sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The long-range battery with 102 kWh should carry the all-wheel drive version 560, the rear-wheel drive 600 kilometers (WLTP). The Polestar 4 will be launched in Europe at the beginning of 2024. Prices should start at around 60,000 euros.
