you haven’t seen everything, surprises await you

After spending many years correcting its past mistakes on Cyberpunk 2077, it is time for the studio to move on. But Night City still seems to hold many secrets.

Pawel Sasko, director of Cyberpunk 2077, wanted to be teasing by indicating that all the secrets of the game have not yet been found by the players. A sign like any other of the depth of the game and the pleasure CD Projekt RED took in developing it, despite its many problems upon release.

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way and still keeps a few secrets

Released in 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Cyberpunk 2077 unfortunately had its eyes bigger than its stomach, especially on older generation consoles. This was a definite blow to the reputation of CD Projekt RED, then at its peak after the masterpiece that was The Witcher 3. The Polish studio, however, did not admit defeat and rolled up its sleeves. Three years, a PS5 and Xbox Series version, an excellent Phantom Liberty DLC and a convincing version 2.0 later, the landmark title has finally arrived at the definitive version that it deserved to be from the start.

Teasingly, the studio has over the course of this long work added many secrets and Easter Eggs in Cyberpunk 2077. According to Pawel Sasko, many of them have not yet been discovered, or at least not publicly. “ I saw a recent article about all the Easter Eggs in the game. The list is massive, but it’s not all there yet. However, it could be that someone has found what is missing without sharing it “, he joked during GDC 2024.

Stop to start better

After taking the necessary time to refine Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED is now finally satisfied with the result. We should therefore not see any other major updates coming to the game. It’s time for the Polish studio to move forward. As such, we already know that The Witcher 4 is next on the list. This highly anticipated sequel should enter production in 2024, but its release is still far away. Let’s hope that the teams working on it will have all the time necessary to offer a fourth opus that meets the colossal expectations of fans.

After this new saga in the universe of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, a return to Mike Pondsmith’s role-playing game with Cyberpunk 2, even more distant. Same hopes regarding the sequel to the landmark Cyberpunk 2077. Things should in any case go better for these two ambitious games from CD Projekt RED. This is partly thanks to development on a more stable Unreal Engine 5 than the in-house RED Engine. This should allow the studio to give more time to the many new things it intends to explore in these two projects which promise to be massive. The search for the last Easter Eggs still well hidden in Cyberpunk 2077 could thus better help players wait for them.
