You should urgently uninstall this fake ChatGPT app that wants to scam you!

A mobile application pretends to be the famous chatbot and offers a paid subscription against the promise of access to premium features.

ChatGPT has been dazzling the tech world, and beyond, for several weeks with its highly relevant results, whatever the question asked.

A powerful tool that interests the whole world… as well as scammers

The tool developed by OpenAI is so powerful that we recently learned that Microsoft is considering integrating it into its Office software. This new technology also raises questions, especially for the youngest who could use it to do their homework. With great powers, great responsibility, and OpenAI has already announced that it is working to include a digital signature system to avoid cheating and unearth the production of the machine against that of a human being.

OpenAI’s artificial intelligence system can be tested for free on the web by anyone, with a single registration on the company’s site. However, clever little guys try to make a little money on the back of the service.

This is the case of the ChatGPT Chat GPT AI With GPT-3 application, a software that pretends to be the official tool, but which is nothing more than a subscription scam.

When you install the software, you are immediately asked to take out a monthly or annual subscription to eliminate advertisements or even unlock the time limits imposed by the free version.

After a few tries, it is easy to realize that the search results are bad, and very far from what ChatGPT offers today. Its developers, responding to the very strange name of “Social Media Apps & Game Sports health Run Hiking Running fitness tracking”, obviously have nothing to do with OpenAI.

The application is however the second in the “Productivity” category on the Apple App Store. Comments rain down to denounce what is a scam in good and due form, and warn interested users to flee this software.

This story, altogether banal, once again raises the question of software validation at Apple. The app has gone through several vetting processes, and it appears no one at Apple has found fault with its content, or the ChatGPT trademark impersonation.

While waiting for this story to possibly make Apple react and decide to withdraw the software, we invite you on our side not to download this software, or other copies, and to keep in mind that the ChatGPT website remains the only way today to test the service via a browser.
