By early May, fans of Lego and Star Wars may want to save some money to afford the new sets planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film Return of the Jedi.

Three new sets and a reissue are on the program.

It’s (again) the X of X-Wing

In a few weeks, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi will be 40 years old. Never the last when it comes to exploiting the famous license, Lego will obviously be there to please fans and extract money from them with new content. Thus, at the beginning of May, four more or less new sets will arrive in stores and on the Lego site.

“More or less”, because the main set is none other than an X-Wing Starfighter that we have already seen several times in the past on the brick side. This new version in 1,949 pieces (against 1,304 and 1,559 for the versions of 2000 and 2013 respectively) will be charged 239.99 euros. To try to seduce old and new fans alike, mini figurines of Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 are in the game. See you, of course, on May 4th.

Two new Star Wars dioramas at Lego

A little earlier, on May 1, two dioramas linked to the 1983 film will be marketed. For 99.99 euros, it will be possible to build a replica of Emperor Palpatine’s throne room using 807 pieces. The latter, like Luke and Darth Vader, is obviously there to recreate their famous confrontation. Otherwise, for 79.99 euros, a more reasonable diorama in 608 pieces proposes to stage the chase in Speeders on the planet Endor.

Finally, an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, more reasonable than its name suggests, will arrive on the same date. Invoiced 69.99 euros, it is indeed “only” 43 cm long for 630 pieces.
