An Android application offering an experience inspired by Dynamic Island of the iPhone 14 Pro has already been developed.

At the beginning of September, Apple presented its new generation of iPhone, with a major novelty for the Pro models: the disappearance of the notch, replaced by a more discreet pill-shaped element. But above all, in order not to appear to be years behind on Android smartphones, Apple has introduced the Dynamic Island function, an interface that takes advantage of the design of the pill.

As (too) often, part of the Android ecosystem is quick to copy this novelty, even if it makes much less sense given that Android smartphones generally carry a much more modest punch than the iPhone 14 Pro pill .

This is how the Redmi K60 could be launched with a version of MIUI integrating an option similar to Dynamic Island. From our point of view, it is essentially a marketing function that allows you to say ” it’s like on the iPhone “, because its real usefulness is yet to be demonstrated.

On the iPhone 14 Pro, Dynamic Island seeks above all to hide the pill to offer a more coherent display. On Android, there is no real need for it, and the functions of this interface can very well be taken over by widgets.

But knowing that the demand was going to exist, since Apple is a trend engine, a developer has already developed an application called “DynamicSpot”, which takes up the idea of Dynamic Island. Currently in beta, it mimics many of the possibilities offered by the iOS UI, and adds customization options.

Through this application, the user can configure the type of notifications that will be displayed on the screen, change the appearance, position and size of the DynamicSpot, and even choose to display two pop-up notifications at the same time.

A paid version at 4.99 dollars is offered to unlock new options. They include the ability to show the DynamicSpot on the lock screen and access to single-tap and long-tap actions.
