While waiting for a possible PlayStation Showcase in the coming days, Sony Interactive Entertainment is talking about one of the big PS5 exclusives in development.
PlayStation has published the figures for its last fiscal year and the Japanese manufacturer has once again exploded the counters with record turnover. The company is therefore in its best shape, even if it could have been even better. Sales targets for the PS5 were narrowly missed, and first-party games did not sell as much as expected. To straighten things out a little, and why not find last year’s figures, the company confirms the release of a new exclusive in the coming months.
A completely new PS5 exclusive is coming, that’s for sure!
While a new PlayStation studio has been established, Sony Interactive Entertainment provides news of a project that has almost not been revealed. Concord. A new PS5 & PC sci-fi FPS created by the new team at Firewalk Studios. Given the nature of the trailer, we haven’t seen anything yet. The only certainties at this point are that it will be a Player versus Player multiplayer experience. And that the developers want to really push this dimension.
Here is what was said on the PlayStation blog about this PS5 & PC exclusive. “Concord brings people together. The ability to create connections and inspire social play is in the DNA of games. The Firewalk team is driven by these exciting and unexpected moments, as well as the shared experiences that multiplayer games are capable of sparking. Each connection marks the start of a new adventure, and each playthrough is an opportunity to experience a new story. It is these ideals that define Concord, its unique universe filled with living worlds and its colorful characters” (via PSBlog).
Normally, Concord, one of the surviving PlayStation 5 service games, should arrive in 2024 on PS5 and PC. This was the manufacturer’s original plan. Has that changed? Not if we rely on a slide of the Sony group’s financial statement. On a photo bearing the words “Live Service Games”, it is confirmed that Concord will be released in 2024. And before it, there will be the Destiny 2 Final Form expansion on June 4, 2024. When will the date and a real trailer be released? gameplay on PS5? Two hypotheses are possible at present. The reveal could take place during the rumored PlayStation Showcase, or during the Summer Game Fest 2024 conference.
