You will soon be able to rent Polestar electric cars from Hertz

Hertz has just placed an order for 65,000 Polestars for its agencies worldwide. They will be available in the spring in Europe.

While the public authorities are now relying heavily on electrification, manufacturers are forced to follow the trend and adapt, by offering more and more trendy models, and in particular zero-emissions. But while the own ranges are becoming ever richer and the offer extends to all segments, customers are now spoiled for choice.

However, brands are not the only ones to have to change and reduce their proportion of internal combustion models. Indeed, rental companies are also keen to develop their fleets, in order to be more in tune with the market and growing customer demand for electrification. We should therefore expect to see more and more trendy models available for rental.

A large order

One of the most active rental companies in this area is Hertz. The American firm has largely changed its catalog in recent years, with electrification that continues to intensify. And for good reason, after placing a large order for 100,000 Teslas, the company signed a partnership with another manufacturer.
This is Polestar, which should provide no less than 65,000 electric vehicles to the rental company, as the latter announced in a press release. Enough to grow its fleet, which currently has no less than 500,000 cars in the various agencies spread throughout the world. Hertz’s goal is then to become one of the largest electric car rental companies in North America, but not only.

Soon in Europe

Indeed, if several hundred Polestars will be available for rental in the United States, other markets will also benefit, including Australia, but also Europe. The first copies of the Polestar 2 will indeed be offered in the coming months, during the spring. However, no date has yet been announced specifically for France, which should also be affected.
But why Polestar? According to the lessor, the choice fell on this brand, because the Asian manufacturers would ensure faster deliveries. In addition, this partnership would allow the Sino-Swedish firm to make itself known in countries where it is not distributed, while only 30,000 copies were sold in 2021 worldwide.
