We start with a mod not very glamorous, but essential to the installation of other mods: Fluffy Mod Manager by FluffyQuack. It is indeed required for several of the proposals present in this selection. As its name suggests, this tool simplifies the installation and management of mods on Resident Evil 4.

It also intends to facilitate the reinstallation of mods after a patch of the game, thanks to various buttons provided for this purpose. If you want to customize your experience on PC, installing this Mod Manager is essential.

If you feel any nostalgia for Leon’s original appearance, the mod Classic RE4 Leon by
XxCRAZYPOTATOxX
just allows you to replace the new skin of the Remake by its classic version.

Besides Leon’s 2005 version handsome face, this mod is fully compatible with the character’s animations and should therefore not cause any untimely bugs.

Playable Ashley And Playable Ada by maekatt and xRaq

And if you’re tired of seeing Leon, why not add a dose of absurdity to a game that already doesn’t take itself seriously by playing Ashley directly (but which will still have to escort itself)? This paradox is now possible thanks to the mod Playable Ashley from maekatt. It also has character-specific sound effects and animations, but still has some hiccups, especially during calls with Hunnigan.

If you prefer Ada to Ashley, while waiting for the DLC dedicated to her and the Mercenaries mode, it is also possible to embody this character so charismatic thanks to the mod Playable Ada from xRaq. The modder has also managed to integrate his animations from the Mercenaries mode, for an experience as believable as possible… even though Ada will sometimes push Leon’s masculine grunts.

If inventory management drives you crazier than being hassled by villagers while on vacation in Spain, the mod Max Stack Sizes of Synthlight should relieve your headache.

As the name suggests, this mod offers you to customize the maximum size of the number of items that can be stacked. So you can have a stack of 999 9mm bullets or herb mixes if you feel like it. It is of course possible to customize the stack size as you wish.

Classic Fixed Camera by FransBouma

To close this selection, a little thought for game fans resident Evil originals with Classic Fixed Camera by Frans Bouma. This mod, on the other hand, is in an experimental state on GitHub and requires some technical knowledge to get the most out of it.

As you can see in the video above, this mod allows you to ignore the camera behind the shoulder introduced in the Resident Evil 4 original in 2005. Instead, it is possible, by tinkering with the game, to position fixed cameras in key places to reconnect with the experience of the very first opuses of the franchise. However, the fights may not be adapted to this formula, the mod rather bringing a touch of nostalgia during our walks in Spain.
