“Young socialists, we want to defend a ‘life in pink’ for future generations and give meaning to the struggles carried out by the left”

AThile the congress of the Socialist Party has just ended, that of its youth organization is now preparing to open, from 1er to April 2 in Lille (North). Damaged by past scandals and too often plagued by power games inspired by our elders, our organization must today continue its overhaul and complete its transformation with more ardor than today.

While the Young Socialists have historically been at the forefront of the ideological battles carried out by the socialist family, today we deplore a lack of ambition and a vision that is sometimes too timorous or even pusillanimous of the battles that we must wage. Bringing together comrades from all the orientation texts of the Socialist Party and representing true territorial diversity, our militant collective Le Poing social, which presents the national action plan La Vie en rose, therefore wishes to launch a radical change in the head of our movement, by defending strong ideas that we wish to introduce into the public debate.

If we do not recognize ourselves in the radicalism of the postures and the excesses of some, too present today in the political sphere, we do not defend less a certain radical thought, necessary in order to defend a “life in pink” for the generations future and to give meaning to the battles waged by the left, in the first place concerning the necessary democratic renewal.

Blank vote recognition

We socialists cannot believe in a providential man, or a providential woman, who would come to save the country. We will therefore campaign for the recognition of the blank vote and for the banning of polls one year before the election. We will also carry the proposal to create a government digital platform to collect the grievances of citizens.

Our democratic requirements also apply to the world of business: we will campaign to increase the proportion of salaried staff on boards of directors in order to develop a culture of co-management. Secondly, we wish to develop a real popular ecology, through the creation of social, ecological and food security. A system of advances and reimbursement of certain expenses could be imagined, financed by the allocation of tax revenue.

We must also encourage the replication of local experiments on social food security, which are based on the cooperative model, to fight against food insecurity and recreate citizen solidarity. We will also campaign to develop free public transport, relying on elected socialists who are already implementing this measure on their territory.
