Indeed, many users have reported a serious problem that occurs when charging their iPhone.

Today, the iPhone 14 Pro is in our sights. Since its launch, this version has been particularly affected by various problems. Reports indicate that the photo application takes a long time to open and American users also point to problems connecting to the 5G network (Verizon). We even note a reduced autonomy with iOS 16… Now, it is the charging of the phone that is incriminated on the forums.
Whether during a MagSafe or Lightning recharge, people explain that their iPhone 14 Pro restarts unexpectedly. On Reddit, several users report this same bug which would not manifest itself off load. This anomaly would also appear on other devices running iOS 16.0.1, 16.0.2 and 16.1 beta. For example, an iPhone 14 Pro Max would reboot pretty much every 10-20 minutes while charging.
How to escape the bug?
For the moment, the origin of the problem has not been formally identified. Fortunately, Internet users have taken up the subject in order to provide more or less viable solutions. First of all, it would seem that the reboot mostly happens when the iPhone is idle and the battery is charging between 90-95%. To have a chance of escaping the phenomenon, it is advisable to disable background app refresh. The manipulation is done by going to the “Settings”, then clicking on “General” and “Refresh in the background”.
If it obviously does not work every time, a complete reset of the phone may be sufficient. Disabling Optimized Battery Charging is also recommended. Finally, as a last resort, you can always return your iPhone 14 Pro to Apple (within 14 days from the date of purchase) to get a new one.
