Your looks for a V-shaped morphology

First of all, know that all body types are beautiful. If you have a V-shaped body shape and you don't know how to dress to highlight your figure, you are in for a treat! In this guide, we give you lots of tips to enhance that pretty athlete build that you sometimes have trouble accepting, but which nevertheless has many advantages!

The characteristics of the V-shaped morphology

If your shoulders are wider than your hips, you have a V-shaped morphology. Also called an inverted pyramid, this one is recognizable by its much larger volume on the upper body. Your bust is imposing, while the hips and legs are slimmer. You have a real athletic build that you need to know how to highlight by emphasizing your slim waist and slender legs. These are indeed real assets that you shouldn't be afraid to show!

How to highlight a V-shaped morphology?

To highlight your V-shape, you have to draw the eye to your lower body. Your hourglass figure and your legs are gorgeous, that's why we have to see them! To make your figure more harmonious, minimizing the volume of your shoulders will allow you to draw attention to those parts of the body that you consider to be your most beautiful assets.

V-morphology: DOs and DON’Ts

DO

– Fashionable pieces that highlight your legs: skirts, dresses, shorts.

– All accessories and clothing that mark the waist.

WHOSE

– Clothes that add volume to the shoulders (balloon sleeves, ruffles, epaulets etc.)

Pieces that reveal the bust too much, such as thin straps, bustier tops or bare shoulders.

Fashion pieces that highlight the V-shaped morphology

The idea being to draw attention to your lower body, you can go overboard with all kinds of dresses, shorts and skirts! The skater dress will be even more flattering for a figure like yours. It marks the waist and flares out at the bottom to reveal your legs. The wrap dress can also be recommended! Its V-neck will be perfect to highlight your chest and look away from the shoulders.

Do you prefer pants? Slim jeans are made for you. They will highlight your slender legs. Do not hesitate to wear colors and prints, but only at the bottom! Colorful or printed pants will be a real eye-catcher and that's what we're looking for.

As for the tops, opt for flowing tops and blouses, preferably with a V-neck. For a trendy style, bet on the tight-fitting V-neck bodysuit that will flatter your body shape.

V-shaped morphology: fashion pieces to avoid

Details that add volume to your shoulders are definitely your pet peeve! Avoid tops, sweaters and jackets with shoulder pads. Blouses and tops with ruffles are also not recommended. Other fashion pieces to avoid: tops with bardot necks, strapless dresses, tank tops with spaghetti straps and printed tops because they catch the eye.

At the bottom, we do not recommend wide trousers which may weigh down the figure. The tight will look much better on you. Slim jeans (rather low waist with your body type), mini-skirt or shorts … You are spoiled for choice to concoct a trendy outfit full of style!

Regarding coats, we do not recommend fur jackets and large down jackets which create volume on the upper body. Prefer straight coats that will harmonize your silhouette.

And in summer, which swimsuit for my V-shape?

As with any other outfit, swimsuits should catch the eye at the bottom rather than the top. Choose stockings that add volume and are visible. Ruffles, prints, stripes, flashy colors, you can let go!

Same advice as for clothing: Avoid bikini tops with bardot necks or bandeaux which may widen your shoulders. Preferably choose solid colors as well. Regarding the shape, highlight your chest with a push-up or a triangle swimsuit. The thin straps to tie behind the court reduce the width of the shoulders.
