The brand has just unveiled a strange foldable smartphonewhich has the particularity of being able to be worn like a handbag.
The smartphone market may have had a tendency to purr in recent years, and the latest models launched by manufacturers are now content only with incremental updates, without any real innovation. Fortunately, some brands are looking to shake up the market, and this is the case of HONOR, which at IFA 223 presents a new model with a concept never seen before.
Halfway between the smartphone and the handbag, HONOR presents a completely new model
This concept, called HONOR V Purse, is a folding smartphone like no other, which is more thought of as a fashion accessory. Indeed, this phone is not intended to be slipped into your pocket, but carried like a handbag.
To change the look of your smartphone, the HONOR V Purse comes with a selection of interchangeable clips and chains. A fastening system has been integrated to be carried easily on the shoulder, as one would do with a traditional handbag, and to adapt to each outfit. The handles were made from vegan leather.
On the front of the smartphone, there is a screen that displays different customizable visuals that mimic the design of a handbag. HONOR has taken the concept quite far, and states that ” design elements such as chains, feathers and pom poms that react and swing with the movements of the smartphone will be integrated into these visuals so that the illusion is as perfect as possible.

To design some of these custom screens, HONOR turned to artists and fashion professionals, such as BURBERRY Menswear Creative Director Bram Van Diepen, contemporary artist Yunuene Esparza, Academy Professor fine arts of China Yuan Youmin and crossover artist Xiao Hui Wang.
HONOR’s ambition is to open its system to other designers, who will be able to use the various smartphone sensors to offer their own personalized screens, and follow new trends.
The HONOR V Purse has no release date or price for the moment, but we are curious to know how the public will react to this concept which has the merit of offering a fresher vision of the smartphone.
A new square format connected watch with the HONOR Watch 4
HONOR took advantage of the presentation of the HONOR V Purse to launch its new connected watch, the HONOR Watch 4. This new version adopts a square format, the same adopted by Apple with the Apple Watch, and offers a large AMOLED screen 1.75 inches. The latter has the “Always-On” feature and benefits from a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The case is made of aluminum, has rounded edges, and the supplied strap is made from silicone.
The various sensors on the back of the device make it possible to determine the user’s heart rate and blood oxygen content. The algorithms developed by the brand can also determine the wearer’s “fitness age” and give a clear view of their physical condition. Sleep and menstruation monitoring is also on the program, as well as sports monitoring.

The built-in 475 mAh battery finally provides autonomy estimated by the manufacturer at around 14 days under normal use.
The HONOR Watch 4 is available this Friday, September 1 at a price of €149.90.
