Valve wants to reassure its customers: Steam Deck orders should all be honored before the end of the year. A boost in production.
Is the shortage that has affected the entire tech sector for several years about to be resolved? Analysts are still pessimistic about the shortage in 2022, but there are still some signs of improvement. For several weeks now, graphics cards have been back in stock at more normal prices and Valve also seems to be getting encouraging.
Indeed, the Steam publisher published an article on its official blog to talk about the supply of Steam Decks. The situation is improving.
All reservations will be delivered in 2022
Valve has managed to correct most of the problems in the Steam Deck supply chain and is dramatically increasing the production rate. As a result, the firm even allows itself to announce that it will get ahead of its initial schedule.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that we are able to satisfy the reservations of all the people still on the waiting list earlier than expected.
More concretely, people with a reservation indicating “4th quarter or later” will be able to take a quarter in advance and order their Steam Deck between July and September.
All other reservations will be moved to the now empty 4th quarter slot, from October to December 2022.
Thus, Valve is committed to delivering in 2022 all reservations already made.
New bookings may arrive in 2022
Valve’s statement focuses on people who have already reserved their Steam Deck, but who is new to reservations? Valve indicates that some of them will be convertible to order before the end of 2022, within the limits of available stocks.
