YouTube announces ad-free player for education

YouTube is expanding its education component by adding many features and videos that are guaranteed to be ad-free.

In a blog article, the Google subsidiary presented in detail what promises to be a “new chapter” in this terrain favored by many Internet users seeking to learn.

Videos “devoid of any distraction”

Another tool for educational content: a quiz feature that creators can add to the community section of their videos. Related to the content currently viewed, these quizzes will provide a way for users to test their memory and see if they have learned the lesson well. This feature will also enter beta in the coming months, and educational content creators will be able to access it next year.

This initiative is part of a vast fundraising operation by YouTube. The Google subsidiary notably raised $20 million to promote educational videos without recommendations on topics such as science or music.
