The YouTube Music application is preparing for new developments which aim to offer more fluid and natural performances with Nest and Google Cast connected speakers.
Anyone who launches YouTube is regularly offered a subscription to the music streaming platform: YouTube Music. If the content offer does not have to be ashamed of the competition, it must be recognized that the interactions with the connected speakers are more laborious than what Spotify Connect offers, which allows you to control and distribute your musical flow from one speaker to another transparently.
A function that YouTube Music does not yet offer, even though Alphabet has a great offer of connected speakers under the Nest brand.
YouTube Music casts more naturally
For the past few days, users on Reddit have been reporting a new feature in the YouTube Music app. According AndroidPolicethis is a server-side update that is expected to roll out to all YouTube Music subscribers.
When you enjoy it, you can ask your speaker aloud to play music and then open the YouTube Music application on your smartphone. This will automatically connect to your Google Nest without you having to intervene at the speaker. Nest products are the first to be affected, but the function should be accessible to all Google Cast compatible speakers.

All controls are automatically transferred to the app, whether it’s volume management or browsing your playlist. Spotify Connect users won’t be put off, the leader in audio streaming has long made it possible. Google is therefore only upgrading and must further refine its additions to avoid, for example, playlist conflicts.
However, we are not going to hide our pleasure in the face of positive developments. Even if it is time for Google to spend the second to enrich its musical ecosystem.
