For some time now, YouTube users on Android have been able to search for music by humming a song. This same feature seems to be coming to YouTube Music (for iOS).
For several years now, Google has allowed Internet users to perform a music search by humming a song. No need for lyrics, just hum the tune of a song into the microphone of your smartphone so that Google manages (most of the time) to identify this music that is in your head.
Yogurt also on YouTube Music
Last summer, Google allowed certain YouTube users to find a song using voice search. This feature has since been rolled out widely to all YouTube users, but it remains strangely absent from YouTube’s music cousin, YouTube Music.
However, the deployment is on the way, according to some iPhone owners, who can search for music simply by humming or whistling into their microphone. However, at present, the function remains unavailable for the majority of users.
Google Search also affected by voice search since 2020
Obviously, this feature relies on AI to automatically recognize the piece of music hummed by the user. To do this, simply click on the corresponding search icon and start humming the desired tune.
The system then displays the search results, with a reliability percentage next to each title. Remember that Google Search has also had such a feature since the end of 2020. In all likelihood, this feature should be integrated into YouTube Music on iOS and Android in the coming weeks.
