Probably many of you enjoy watching Youtube, with the family, directly from your Android TV and comfortably seated on your sofa. If this is your case, know that this feature is likely to interest you… and perhaps even to rejoice.

It was an option eagerly awaited by some: the account selector is finally coming to YouTube TV!

When YouTube TV thinks of the whole family

As unveiled by the official YouTube TV Twitter account a few hours ago, the famous application will soon be equipped with a brand new feature, all in all very classic, of course, but which should nevertheless prove relatively practical for many. of users.

From now on, when you want to start the YouTube application from your TV, an account selection screen will appear. More concretely, this will allow you to choose beforehand, without an account being defined by default, the user concerned. The words “Who is watching” will appear on the screen to allow each member of a household to switch and manually access their own account, and thus benefit from their subscriptions, recommendations, etc.

This is a feature already known from streaming platforms like Netflix or Disney+. If you’re the only person using YouTube on TV, or you just don’t want to go through that account selection screen every time you launch the app, know that this feature can still be disabled from the settings. .

Finally, YouTube announced that the account switcher would be rolled out gradually, without giving us more details. But there’s almost no doubt that we should see this feature land in the next few weeks.
