In addition to having announced the new episode that is Ys X: Nordics, Falcon has unveiled in the wake of a remastering in HD of the remake of the third episode entitled Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, strangely exclusively for the Switch for now, expected in spring 2023 in Japan.
As reported by Gematsu, this new version will be fully dubbed for the more than 30 characters in the game and even Adol Christin will be entitled to it, embodied by none other than Yūki Kaji, with the addition of Banjō Ginga as a narrator. On the graphics side, we can choose between a classic version using visuals from the game on PSP and PC (right) and a ‘refined’ version (left) featuring new artwork for all the characters, with the possibility of switching from one to the other according to our good will.
The sound part has also been reworked, this time with a choice of three distinct audio tracks, the first from the original PC game, then those from the PC-8801 and X68000 versions used in Ys III: Wanderers from Ys. The sound effects have also been remastered. A mode to accelerate the speed of movement will allow you to move 1.5 times faster, activatable according to your desire with a simple press of a button. Finally, various aids for beginners will be accessible, for example so as not to suffer damage when falling from a high point.
Whether Ys: The Oath in Felghana you are interested, it is sold €4.49 on sale at GOG.com.
