Launched last January, the free-to-play Yu Gi Oh! Master Duel recently surpassed 30 million downloads, which is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Android and iOS devices. Hard to say how well this translates to the actual number of active players, especially since the progression is cross platformbut Konami must be delighted with this success. What is certain is that new content has just been added to the gameenough to renew the interest of duelists.
The restrictions of cards that can be used have thus been modified for the first time, new cards have appeared through two boosters and one Structure Deck, as well as a handful of additional accessories and two portals for the solo mode, serving to introduce archetypes and tactics. Moreover, after the xyz festival and the Synchro-Festivalit is the event Fusion Festival which will be held from May 12. A trailer with the good words of the press was broadcast for the occasion.
- The very first Prohibited/Restricted list updatewhich regulates the use of certain cards during Duels.
- New “Refined Blade” and “Fusion Potential” packagesas well as the “Cybernetic Successor” Structure Deck are available in the in-game store, along with cards such as Ultimate Cyberdark Dragon
- Two new Portals for the single player mode. The former is themed around “Danger,” while “Duel Strategy 2” includes tutorial missions and unlockable rewards.
- A connection bonus to celebrate the 3 months of the game : Each Duelist will receive a total of 1,000 Gems for logging in!
- New Gems promotions, available now in the in-game store.
- Various optimizations to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, and more.
