“Microliner” is what Yucon calls its campervans, which are often built on Mercedes Sprinters and can sometimes score with smart floor plans. The K-Peak model now presented for the 2024 model year picks up on another trend: all-wheel drive and self-sufficiency.

With chunky tires, factory Mercedes all-wheel drive, LED light bar and other add-on parts, the aim is to appeal to adventurers who also want to move off the beaten track.

The panel van follows the SUV rather than the expedition vehicle principle: you could if you wanted to – but mostly you don’t want to. This vehicle class is not made for rough off-road excursions. But the K-Peak should look just as good on forest trails and campsites. He doesn’t want to be a real getaway vehicle.

Whereby – a look at the standard built-in batteries makes you sit up and take notice. A 300 Ah lithium battery makes you independent of sockets and shore power. There are also two 90-watt solar panels on the roof, which can be designed as a pop-up roof and accommodate two additional sleeping places. There is also a 100 liter fresh water supply and a 55 liter waste water tank.

The main bed is traditionally located in the rear of the vehicle. Since the Sprinter, like most panel vans, is quite narrow, Yucon relies on a widening of the body at this point, so that it is possible to sleep sideways. The manufacturer offers a variety of layouts, including the option of two single beds.

Other equipment, some of which is optionally available, includes a 9-speed automatic transmission, various assistance systems, diesel parking heater, WLAN router and 2,000 watt inverter.

price and availability

The manufacturer is still keeping the exact price list under lock and key. The basic price of the six meter long K-Peak is 115,000 euros. The K-Peak will celebrate its premiere at the Caravan Salon 2023 in Düsseldorf. We will introduce you to other mobile home and camping highlights of the season at this point.
