Sunday July 31, in the morning, two burglars broke into the Parly 2 shopping center, in Chesnay in the Yvelines, and stole a million euros worth of jewelry, revealed our colleagues from “Parisien”. The criminals, who were wearing gloves and balaclavas, cut the iron curtain of the Marc Orian store using a grinder.

In a Marc Orian of the Parly 2 shopping mall in Chesnay, the thieves stole at least one million euros worth of jewelry. This represents approximately 12,000 pieces and the damage is still being assessed. It may therefore be revised upwards.

The investigation promises to be complex

Two men operated very early on Sunday morning, shortly after 6 a.m. They cut the iron curtain of the store with a grinder before turning the jewelry upside down. The operation lasted 30 minutes. The alarm went off on the store manager’s cell phone, although she remained unreachable. It was a passerby who discovered the ransacked store more than seven hours after the fact. The two criminals were hooded and gloved. The investigation therefore promises to be complex. It was entrusted to the seasoned civil servant of the judicial police of Versailles.

Another jewelry store robbed on July 28

The police are hoping to find fingerprints inside the jewelry store, which could put them on the trail of the criminals. This is the second burglary of this type in less than a week in the Yvelines. Thursday July 28, the jewelry store of a Leclerc supermarket in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine was also attacked. According to the website News17, two store employees were injured in the robbery. The two suspects also managed to escape.
