Z Flip 3: a youtuber folds it more than 400,000 times, twice what Samsung announces

the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is particularly resistant to folding and unfolding, much more than announced by the figures cited by the Korean firm. In any case, this is what a long-term test by the Polish youtuber Mrkeybrd shows.

The drop resistance of the smartphone is also highlighted in this test which lasted almost a week.

The equivalent of 11 years of use in just 6 days

The figures announced by the manufacturers may be subject to criticism concerning the test methods or the possible duration of use in real life, the youtubeur Mrkeybrd has good reason to praise the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Indeed , a copy of the third generation of folding smartphones from the Korean firm was put to the test in a rather rare way, as it required a lot of patience.

Indeed, Mrkeybrd, relayed by other people, wanted to push the folding and unfolding capacity of this smartphone to its limits. To overcome this, a total of 418,500 folds had to be made. This is more than double the figure announced by Samsung, with a lifespan of 200,000 folds at the rate of a hundred per day.

The Z Flip 3 could therefore keep its folding capabilities intact for not five and a half years, but almost eleven years (!) without suffering any particular damage. Because, even when Mrkeybrd can no longer fold it, everyday use remains optimal, with a fully responsive screen, for example. This last observation could of course be different after eleven years of wear (humidity, scratches, etc.), but it is in any case reassuring about the durability of this product. After these 400,000 folds, a simple scrunchie would be enough to keep it closed.

Strong resistance to heavy falls also noted

To push the vice even further, Mrkeybrd also tested the drop resistance capacity of this smartphone. As a result, the Polish YouTuber dropped the smartphone sixteen times, in various positions but at trouser pocket height, on concrete tiles. It was only from this total that the screen began to show weaknesses, while the rear glass cracked.

A resistance, here again, more than honorable, since at the rate of two large annual falls, it could survive nearly eight years of violent shocks. This Z Flip 3 is now good for repair, and Mrkeybrd, for a long nap after such a week of testing.
