Zapf millinery – traditional business inwerfen slips into bankruptcy

It’s a tragedy! throwing hat maker Zapf has been lovingly handcrafting hats since 1893. Most recently, they have specialized in associations. From the shooting club to the brass band: the Pongau company received orders from all over Austria. It was also reported from those around the traditional company that the order books were well filled. Now, however, the hatter Zapf GmbH filed for bankruptcy

According to the Credit Protection Association 1870, there are 20 creditors, the debts amount to 1.1 million euros, and the credit side stands at 440,000 euros. What will happen next for the twelve employees in the shops in Werden and the city of Salzburg is unclear. Until a few years ago, business was said to have been going very well. Insiders report that with the untimely death of the former managing director, Ms. Bartolot, around four years ago, the owner’s interest in the millinery decreased. The business is scheduled to close at the end of the week.
