Zara and Narciso Rodriguez on the same line

In the pursuit of its move upmarket, Zara has just unveiled a collection created in partnership with the American designer of Cuban origin Narciso Rodriguez, a figurehead of New York fashion week in the years 2000-2010. After a successful collaboration with the cutting-edge German fashion label Kassl Editions and a collection with artisanal accents, called “Zara Atelier” – photographed by Paolo Roversi -, Zara continues to flirt with the codes of luxury by relying on a big name in international fashion.

Narciso Rodriguez delivers here twenty-five pieces faithful to his minimal and sensual style. At the end of the 1990s, while working as artistic director of the Spanish house Loewe, he forged ties with the Ortega family. The one who hasn’t organized fashion shows since 2018 but continues to dress private clients and take care of his successful fragrances has drawn on his archives to revisit favorite pieces from his wardrobe: reversible black wool jacket with side slits, long flowing white dress that looks like the one he designed for Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s wedding in 1996, floating jumpsuit, satin top draped with bows… All shot by famous British fashion photographer Craig McDean.

Limited edition, Narciso Rodriguez × Zara, from €29.95 to €359. From September 8 on zara.com and selected stores.
