Zelda TOTK temples: what are they for?

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, in addition to exploring the surface, depths and skies, you will also have to complete a few dungeons during the main quest. Called Temples in TOTK, note that the first 4 can be completed in any order, but that you will necessarily have to advance in the main quest to access the Temple of the Spirit.

Each time, you will first have to complete a few tests before you can enter the Temple. Once inside, you will have to go through the different rooms and floors to unlock a few specific items in each before returning to the hall to face a boss. As its name suggests quite well, TOTK’s Temple of Wind lies in the skies. To find it, you will have to head towards the North West of the map, and more precisely in the heights of the Hebra Mountainsnear the Village Piaf. Please note, you will necessarily have to advance in the main quest to be able to unlock access. In particular, you will need to help Babil to find his bow and travel from sky island to sky island until he reaches high enough to reach the Temple of the Wind. Once inside the Wind Temple, activate the teleportation point right in front of you to trigger a cutscene during which you will learn that you will have to find five mechanisms to open the hatch. Again very well named, TOTK’s Fire Temple is located in the heart of Death Mountain, the enormous volcano in the Ordinn region in the northeast of the map. To find him, you will have to explore the mountains of this region of Hyrule. Contrary to what one might think, the Water Temple of TOTK is not located in the middle of the ocean or a lake. Indeed, the latter is actually located in the skies above the Zora Domain, east of Hyrule. To find him, you will have to go east from Fort de Guet and explore the region of Lanelle. Please note, you will necessarily have to advance in the main quest to be able to unlock access, and you will necessarily need part of the Zora Outfit to go up the waterfalls. While one might have thought he was in the Firone region given the incessant storm there, the Temple of Lightning of TOTK is actually hiding elsewhere. Indeed, the latter is located in the depths of the Gerudo desert, southwest of Hyrule. To find him, you will have to go in this direction from the Watch Fort and go through the Gerudo canyon.
