Zelensky asked Biden to put Russia on the list of sponsors of terrorism-WaPo

WASHINGTON, April 15 (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has asked Joe Biden to put Russia on the list of “countries sponsoring terrorism”, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the exchanges between the two leaders.

Joe Biden has not made a commitment in this direction, specifies the newspaper.

According to the State Department, the status of “sponsor of terrorism” can apply to any country that supports “acts of international terrorism”.

Only four countries are currently on the list drawn up by the United States: North Korea, Cuba, Iran and Syria. (Kanishka Singh, French version Tangi Salan, said by Matthieu Protard)
