Zelensky calls for the confiscation of Russian assets to compensate for the damage suffered

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday offered his allies a multilateral agreement to obtain compensation from Russia for the damage caused by its forces during the war.

Volodymyr Zelensky, who says Russia is trying to destroy as much infrastructure as it can in Ukraine, said such a deal would show nations planning to carry out aggressive acts against other countries that they will have to pay the price.

“We invite our partners to sign a multilateral agreement and create a mechanism to ensure that anyone who has suffered from Russia’s acts can receive compensation for all losses suffered”he said in a video address.

According to the agreement proposed by the Ukrainian president, Russian funds and property in the signatory countries would be confiscated, they would then be directed to a special compensation fund.

“That would be fair. And Russia would feel the weight of every missile, every bomb, every shell it fired at us.”did he declare.
