Float over the mountains in a hot-air balloon – if you’ve always dreamed of it, you can now make your dream come true. As part of the sixth edition of the Balloonalps Festival, it’s not just the brave who get their money’s worth. Onlookers on the ground will also have something spectacular to look forward to in the sky above Zell am See-Karpun over the next few days.
Winter is generally considered the best season for ballooning. The reason for this is the high temperature difference between the air in the balloon and the surrounding air. The take-offs take place daily from February 5th to 12th, 2022, at the airfield in Zell am See between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Provided, of course, that the weather cooperates. The start preparation begins half an hour before. The 2-G rule applies on site, as well as the obligation to wear a mask. The international winter balloon week also lasts until February 12th.
