Zeva, the first individual flying saucer

A small American company has developed a pocket flying saucer, the first tests of which have been filmed.

Here is an invention which could, if it becomes popular, considerably increase the number of reports of UFOs. The Zeva Zero, is a pocket flying saucer designed by a small American company, Zeva Aero, based in Tacoma, Washington.

This astonishing machine has the particularity of landing and taking off vertically, like a coin resting on its edge, before tilting during the flight.

The first tests of the prototype of this saucer were successfully passed at the beginning of January. Like many of its competitors, the Zeva could address the potential market of flying taxis, supposed to decongest road traffic to better clutter the sky. But if this prospect is the dream of many inventors, the commercial outlets for this type of small device remain very vague for the moment.

However, the Zeva has a few advantages. Its designers plan, for example, to make it take off from the side of a building using a telescopic attachment system as can be seen in the illustration below.

They also highlight its good carbon footprint thanks to its 100% electric propulsion system.

Besides the air taxi market, the company’s director, Steven Tibbits, is considering other avenues for his saucer. It could in particular be used as a vehicle in desert and difficult to access areas or even interest the American army always in search of original ideas to transport its troops.

It remains to be seen whether the technical performance of the Zeva is up to its ambitions. Without this, the risks are great that it will fail in the vast cemetery of flying cars which, since the 1950s, has been constantly filled with fanciful machines.
