Announced at the beginning of the week, the ZEvent 2022 is on everyone’s lips: absent streamers, ZeratoR disgusted with unjustified accusations of “racism”, choice of the association which is debated… More than ever, the charity event stirs the canvas but, fortunately, a solution seems to have been found.
GoodPlanet’s statement
Greenwashing, nft, carbon neutrality or even biodynamics… The GoodPlanet association, chosen for the ZEvent 2022, did not convince everyone this week and many Internet users criticize ZeratoR for not having sufficiently informed themselves beforehand . Some streamers also reacted this Friday: Arkunir withdrawing, Maghla explaining that she had refused the invitation precisely because of the choice of the association and Trinity wishing to leave GoodPlanet a right of reply.
A response which was also provided this Saturday, July 9 on Twitter. It was the director general of the GoodPlanet foundation, Albane Godard, who then spoke in a video. In order to avoid any further controversy, the association is withdrawing from ZEvent 2022.
The decision of ZeratoR and the organization team
Following GoodPlanet’s response, ZeratoR and Dach also released an official statement. The ZEvent team explains that the theme of ecology will not be abandoned. This is far too big a cause that deserves an event of such magnitude to focus on it. What to do then? As ZeratoR says so well “the perfect combination does not exist” but we will have to decide.
For the first time in the history of ZEventit is the donors/viewers who will vote for the 5 associations they consider the most appropriate to receive such sums of money. Of course, ZeratoR and Dach will offer a large list of associations that fit the criteria they have established:
- Must work for ecology,
- No illegal activities,
- Able to receive a large sum of money and show what the donations will be used for,
Concretely, this means that this year, the ZEvent will allow 5 associations, chosen by Internet users, to benefit from the sums of money collected, in equal shares.
