ZEW index sinks further in September

(Boursier.com) — The German ZEW index sank a little more in September. The confidence index stood at -61.9 points, against -55.3 the previous month, and -59.5 consensus. For its part, the index relating to the current situation fell over one month, from -47.6 to -60.5, and came out well below expectations (-52.2 consensus).

The ZEW index is compiled monthly from approximately 350 financial experts. It represents the difference between the portion of optimistic analysts and the portion of pessimistic analysts for the German economic development at 6 months.
