From the soccer field to the big screen: Zlatan Ibrahimovic got a role in the movie “Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom”.
Football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic (39) can prove his skills as an actor. He will take on the role of the Roman Caius Antivirus in the new film “Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom”. A corresponding The native Swede made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday. The director and lead actor of the film, Guillaume Canet (47), confirmed the news by adding published a list of the entire cast.
In addition to Ibrahimovic, singer Angèle (25) as Falbala, Vincent Cassel (54, “Black Swan”) as Caesar and Marion Cotillard (45, “Inception”) as Cleopatra can be seen in the film. Canet meanwhile slips into the role of Asterix, Obelix is played by Gilles Lellouche (48). As announced by the French publisher “Hachette”, “Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom” will be produced in France from April 12th. The planned filming in China was canceled due to the corona pandemic. The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas in 2022.
