Zlatan Ibrahimovic retires. “I’m saying goodbye to football,” the Swede said through tears on Sunday after the game in Milan.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (41) has announced the end of his career. After the final game of the season in the Italian league, in which his club Milan beat Verona at home, the self-proclaimed ‘football god’ said through tears and a trembling voice:

So many memories, so many emotions in this stadium […] I would like to thank my family and those close to me for their patience, my second family – the players, the coach and the staff – for the responsibility you have given me, and the board members for the opportunity “, explained the native Swede, who played for the Italian top club from 2010 to 2012 and from 2020.
Like the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reported furtherhe then addressed the fans directly: “I want to thank you fans from the bottom of my heart. You welcomed me with open arms, you made me feel at home, I will be a Milanista for life,” he said Ibrahimovic and he pushed afterwards: “It’s time to say goodbye to football, not to you.”
It is not yet known how Zlatan Ibrahimovic will continue after his professional career.
