Zoemini 2: Canon’s portable photo printer improves its image quality

Although arriving on the market a little late, Canon has managed to make its Zoemini one of the most popular portable photo printers, with a strong concentration of its sales around the Christmas period. With a view to the end of the coming year, the brand is doing it again with the Zoemini 2, a pocket Bluetooth printer.

New colors and better resolution

On the program, new trendy colors ranging from blue to pink, a reworked Canon Mini Print application to offer more photo customization tools and themes, an optimization of the Bluetooth interface (5.0) and the presence of two multicolored LEDs indicating the printing status.

That’s not all: the print quality is also improved, going from 314 x 400 dpi to 314 x 500 dpi, while the printer’s charging time is reduced from 90 to just 50 min, for an autonomy unchanged. The connection goes, to be done, to USB-C, which is not to displease us given the democratization of this connector.

sticker paper

As a reminder, unlike Canon printers in the Selphy range which print in thermal sublimation for a rendering similar to that obtained in the photo laboratory, the Zoemini use paper with integrated Zero-INK (ZINK) ink.

Two refill formats are available: credit card in 5 x 7.6 cm (and sold in packs of 20 or 50) and round pre-cut sticker 33 mm in diameter (sold in packs of 20). On the other hand, Fujifilm offers the Instax Mini Link, which uses instant paper from Instax cameras.

Price and availability

The Canon Zoemini 2 will be sold in the brand’s partner network from September at the recommended retail price of €124.99.
